En route on Corsica (22) / Unterwegs auf Korsika (22)

welcome to the twenty-second part of our tour of the Island of Corsica.

willkommen zum zweiundzwanzigsten Teil unserer Rundreise über die Insel Korsika.

On the last day of our holiday in Serra the ferro it was very stormy. The wind came from the southwest, and pushed high waves into the bay below our apartment.

Am letzten Tag unseres Urlaubs in Serra die Ferro war es sehr stürmig. Der Wind kam aus Südwesten, und drückte hohe Wellen in die Bucht unterhalb unserer Ferienwohnung.

Instead of the beach we went to the prehistoric site in Filitosa, which was very close to our apartment.

Statt an den Strand sind wir dann zur prähistorischen Ausgrabungsstätte in Filitosa gefahren, welche ganz in der Nähe von unserer Ferienwohnung war.

On the short trip to Filitose we were met by some oldtimers who participated in the oldtimer rally Tour de Corse Historique.

Auf der kurzen Fahrt nach Filitose kamen uns einige Oldtimer entgegen, welche an der Oldtimer-Rallye Tour de Corse Historique teilnahmen.

The Museum in Filitosa consists of two parts. In the building at the entrance are some exhibits from 8000 years of human history. Behind the building is a large open-air area with many archaeological finds.

Das Museum in Filitosa besteht aus zwei Teilen. Im Gebäude am Eingang sind einige Exponate aus 8000 Jahren Menschheitsgeschichte ausgestellt. Hinter dem Gebäude befindet sich ein große Freigelände mit vielen archäölogischen Funden.

There are many menhirs in the open air. A menhir is an upright stone block, which is also referred to elsewhere as the corner stone. The menhirs in Filitosa are made of granite.

Im Freigelände findet man viele Menhire. Ein Menhir ist ein aufrecht stehender Steinblock, der anderorts auch als Hinkelstein bezeichnet wird. Die Menhire in Filitosa sind aus Granit gefertigt worden.

In Filitosa there was a larger settlement, and also parts of old buildings were found.

In Filitosa befand sich eine größere Ansiedlung, und es wurden auch noch Teile von alten Gebäuden gefunden.

During our stay in Filitosa it became slowly sunny and also the wind was weaker than in the morning. That's why we went back to our favorite bay.

Während unseres Aufenthalts in Filitosa wurde es langsam sonniger und auch der Wind wurde auch schwächer. Deshalb sind wir zum Abschluß nochmal zu unserer Lieblingsbucht gefahren.

For bathing it was unfortunately too stormy. To our surprise, suddenly a airplane appeared above the bay, which approached to the depths. At first we thought it would land, but it flew further.

Zum Baden war es dann leider doch noch zu stürmig. Zu unserer Überraschung erschien plötzlich ein Wasserflugzeug über der Bucht, welches zum Tiefflug ansetzte. Es ist dann aber nicht gelandet, sondern weitergeflogen. Naja, man muss nicht alles verstehen, was man sieht.
