welcome to the sixth part of our round trip on the Island of Corsica which takes us to the north west of Cap Corse.Hallo Steemit,
willkommen zum sechsten Teil unserer Rundreise über die Insel Korsika, welche uns in den Nordwesten des Kap von Korsika führte.
In contrast to the eastern side of the peninsula, the west side is hardly populated, because of the west wind the climate is rough.
From the northern tip of Corsica you have a nice view at the small island Ile de la Giraglia.
Im Gegensatz zur Ostseite der Halbinsel ist der Westen eher spärlich besiedelt, da hier die Westwinde für etwas rauheres Klima sorgen. Von der Nordspitze Korsikas kann man hinüber zur kleinen Insel Ile de la Giraglia schauen.
We reached the northern tip of Corsica early in the afternoon, then headed south.
Wir erreichten die Nordspitze Korsikas am frühen Nachmittag, und fuhren dann weiter Richtung Süden.

The western side of the peninsula is very mountainous.
Die Westseite der Halbinsel ist sehr bergig.
The roads here are narrow and curvy, but in the post-season there is not so much traffic and it is easy to drive.
Die Straßen sind hier eng und kurvig, aber in der Nachsaison mangels Verkehr problemlos befahrbar.

We approach one of the few bathing bays in the west, the Anse d' Aliso.

The road is now wider and better, but through the curves and mountains one feels like a rally driver. My wife did not like the road. Out of consideration for the holiday mood, I then pressed the accelerator only gently.
Die Straße wird jetzt breiter und besser, aber durch die Kurven und Berge fühlt man sich wie ein Ralleyfahrer. Meiner Frau hat die Straße aber nicht gefallen. Aus Rücksicht auf die Urlaubsstimmung habe ich dann das Gaspedal nur sanft betätigt.
Further south on the peninsula the picturesque village of Pino is situated. We still do not know that only a few bends later we will discover one of Corsica's greatest environmental pollutions. More next week.
Weiter südlich auf der Halbinsel liegt die malerische Ortschaft Pino. Noch ahnen wir nicht, dass nur ein paar Kurven weiter eine der größten Umweltsünden Korsikas auf uns wartet. Doch dazu dann nächste Woche mehr.
