welcome to the eighth part of our round trip on the Island of Corsica which takes us to the city of Corte.Hallo Steemit,
willkommen zum achten Teil unserer Rundreise über die Insel Korsika, welche uns in die Stadt Corte führt.
We drove from our apartment in Lama directly to Corte and parked in the center in an underground parking garage. The underground car park was under a square at the edge of which stood this fireproof house.
Wir fuhren von unserer Ferienwohnung in Lama direkt nach Corte und parkten im Zentrum in einer Tiefgarage. Die Tiefgarage lag unter einem Platz, an dessen Rand dieses feuerrote Haus steht.

The city of Corte is located in the center of Corsica and was the capital of the island some centuries ago.
Die Stadt Corte liegt im Zentrum von Korsika und war vor einigen Jahrhunderten auch mal eine zeitlang Inselhauptstadt.

Only a few streets further you are already off the center.
Nur ein paar Straßen weiter ist man schon abseits vom Ortskern.
In Corte there are of course also churches, so it looks in one of the many churches.
In Corte gibt es natürlich auch Kirchen, so schaut es in einer der vielen Kirchen aus.
Our goal is the citadel, slowly we approach to the fortress.
Unser Ziel ist die Zitadelle, langsam nähern wir uns ihr an.
We pass a museum whose architecture combines old and new.
Wir kommen an einem Museum vorbei, dessen Architektur alt und neu verbindet.

The citadel of Corte is the only major military fortress in the center of Corsica and was build on a rock formation, which has been used since the 9th century.
Die Zitadelle von Corte ist die einzige größere militärische Festung im Landesinnern und wurde auf einem Felsvorsprung erreichtet, der bereits seit dem 9. Jahrhundert befestigt ist.
