Scales or Skin?
In the blue deep, she did
swim.
She swam with flowing
motions, limb by limb.
She caused heads to turn
in the waning moonlight.
She ignored their
suspicious looks, and kept
on going right.
She found a desolate
beach and sat down, her
green locks glowing.
"She's not the same as
us," The village folk
started saying and
knowing.
Though she was kind
and incredibly nice,
The common folk denied
her without even thinking
twice.
They say she was
different, she even had
green fins!
But, should someone
really be judged by their
scales or their skin?
Some people started to
notice she wasn't mean.
Just misunderstood in a
way unseen.
The people started to
learn that scales, skin,
and gender didn't matter.
A kindred heart
and soul is what
really matters.
