Maps.me is an offline map application. To use the application, users must download first the the map of the region to navigate. Maps.me has navigation tools that can be used to specify what means of transportation you like to go places. User can go places by means of riding a car, walking, taking trains, riding on bicycle or on a taxi.
All the means of transportation provided by Maps.me are by land transport. But, there are places that cannot be covered through land. Example, a place on the other island. I have tried to navigate going to a place in the island using maps.me and it gives inaccurate result like the picture below. There are no available ports where the map said to so.
Proposal
What I am proposing here is to add a navigation tool is Maps.me which can be used to navigate by sea and by air.

These icons are for boat and airplane.
Also, I am proposing that every transportation mode has its own color indicator. The path traveled in the map will be colored according to the type of transportation mode. For the meantime, Maps.me path is colored blue in all transportation mode.

Here are the examples on how the suggestion will work.
The meantime, Maps.me work like this. Point of route from and route to are needed to pinpoint and the application will find a way how to get there.

If the suggestion will be implemented, it will work like this. There will addition Icon for boat and airplane.
Since the path covers land and sea trip, the trip for each transportation mode will be specified. For example below, we take first the land trip.
Since it covers island to island, we need a boat to travel.
For the complete route:
The path has different color because it depends on the transportation mode that are available. The path color corresponds to the color indicator of transportation mode.
Benefits
Here are the benefits if implemented:
- Maps.me will now have additional transportation mode.
- Modes of transportation from places to places will now be accurate.
- By looking to the path or route, users will not be confuse and users will know what mode of transportation are needed.
