Can someone curate my awesome post ?

by @bitrocker2020

Dear Steemians , being able to help the community grow is a great experience for me and with project Curie, the impact that it does on fellow steemians old and new is just amazing. Curie has just turned 1 and have upvoted more then 20,000 posts with the help of the curators For curie's 1 year update please visit this link CURIE'S 1st YEAR UPDATE A BIG GREAT BRAVO TO THE TEAM BEHIND PROJECT CURIE

Over the past 7 days, I had the privilege to assist Curie's Project to find valuable posts and proposed for approval before curie would upvote it bringing the value of that post from below $1 to $100-$150 almost instantly.

WOW ! I want to be a curator !

Sounds FUN right ? I'm not so sure about other experienced curators but let me give a little bit of background as to what I had to go thru before being able to submit a post for someone. Before that here is the criteria set by curie before we can submit a post.

  1. New and verified authors only, who have been persistent without much success. Brand new authors who have one or two posts without verification do not qualify. General guideline for "new author" would be between 27 Reputation and 52 Reputation.
  2. Posts must be more than 150 minutes old, but less than 24 hours, with maximum $1 pending payout.
  3. A single author may be upvoted only once in 2 days or twice a week.
  4. Only original content. Articles, art, poetry, videos, recipes, etc. that appear first on Steemit. (I.e. no reposts of older work) Please make sure sources are linked properly and check for plagiarism before posting here.
  5. *No Steemit-related, photography, travel, religious, introduceyourself or political posts.

what a curator does first ( Filtering )

I spent the first few minutes scrolling all the way down to the 3 hour mark. Then we start our hunt. I would need to look at 2 main things. Firstly, the post must not be over $1 in rewards yet and secondly, the author must not exceed 52 reputation. That generally negates most of the posts selection process. So I would start clicking posts which fits in Curie's criteria

We check for plagiarism in many ways. Different curator has their own way of checking it. My method is mostly the most common way which would be by using google search. We shall leave my other methods to your imagination.

Most common reason why a posts is not qualified even though they adhere to the above criteria.

  • The post contains beautiful photos however the author did not credit the source of the photos.
  • The post has been flagged by Cheetah & Steemcleaners
  • Bad formatting of post. Just 1 size fits all. No effort placed in making the post more readable.
  • For recipe or art posts, there are no progress photos and also no proper explaination. For some Its only 1 photo and 1 short paragraph to say its his/her picture . This is not wrong however its not part of curie's criteria
  • New author with less then 2 posts. Curie's criteria is a few posts and not brand new authors
  • The author had already published the same content elsewhere ( like a blog or youtube or other blogging or social platforms

Just going thru these alone can take hours to go thru post by post by post and still not find one to be able to propose to Curie. Lets say after a few hours I do find a valued post which fits in all my criteria

    source
I would quickly submit it to curie at http://curiesteem.com and wait some more.

If after 3 hours and the post that we submitted does not get approved. For a curator its pretty bad as our CURATION SCORE (CS) drops and our AVERAGE RATING drops which makes it hard for us to continue as curators.

As an author, what should I do to get found by Curie's curators ?

As a curator, we do not expect anything from the authors. However to be found and proposed do these simple steps

    • Create original content and credit the source if you have to use other people's images or music or quotes.
    • Make sure the content is brand new and not something which you have done months or years ago. Yes we do troll you to find these things.
    • Use appropriate tags for your content. It makes it easier for us to find you and discover your great content.

    Can I become a curie curator ?
