A while back I heard about this guy, Wim Hof, aka The ICEMAN and how he was able to be in the snow in just boxers/swim trunks and was fine.
So, I figured what the hell, why not learn more. I bought his app on my iphone (I think it was like $4) and have been doing the breathing exercises, stretches and pushups for the last 2 months. So far i've improved my breath holding from around 1 minute up to 3 minutes, my pushups with breath held went from 25 to 57 and it's pretty cool to see.
If you haven't heard of him or seen the crazy shit he does, VICE did a cool documentary on him. It's a bit longer, but if you are bored and want something to watch it's pretty impressive.
