This is my last post before hardfork 19 happens. I am excited to see what will change. But if there are negative effects that comes with the hardfork, do not panic or worry. They will probably be temporary and if the hardfork changes don't work we can always go back to the way things were. Remember steemit has done 18 hardforks before this.
If you were not here for hardfork 17/18, all the rewards that were pending went to near $0 (we got paid ever day then so it was only from posts that were around 24 hours old) and it took a month for the reward pool to refill. We did not get those rewards at all. People were not happy but we survived and are now doing better than ever. Since this post is not effecting the reward pool that should not happen this time but even if it does, at most, it will take a month to refill.
But here are some possible situations that might happen:
Your Voting Power Might Be Drained To Zero:
Since the voting power is being changed to 4x the power, but draining faster, and this might be calculated retroactively, all the votes you have been doing this last week might have drained your voting power. If this is the case it will only take, at most, a week to recharge if you do not vote. Make sure you turn off your bots. But if this is the case then that means that this can also happen.
Your Posts From Monday Might Go To Next To $0:
If the voting power has been drained then these last days you have been getting voted with by accounts with little to no voting power. Now you can't have no voting power as the voting power only decides how much of the rewards you will get and these rewards have to be divvied. But, if the reward pool is based on a 30 day schedule (or maybe 7 as you can't make money from older posts), then your posts from 6-7 days should go way up and your newer posts should go way down. I think...
Your Voting Power Might Go To 100%
No, I am not just making things up, I am going through, in my head, what can happen. If the voting power, being effected, does the same thing as the reward pool, which reset, then, if the default of voting power is 100%, it might go back to that amount for all accounts.
These are some of the things that can happen, and any of your posts might go up or down that you have not been paid for. I'm not sure and if experts want to weigh in, please do so in the comments. What I do know is don't panic. Things will level out, we will see what happens when the dust settles and if we have to go a few days or a month with low or no rewards, it happens.
Do not panic.
Have a great night steemit.
