I imagined it was something to do with my computer but a few friends here in Bali have now confirmed for me that they also cannot get onto steemit.chat
Could anyone shed any light on this situation for me please? This is unusual for them to be offline for so long.
I would dearly love to use their private message service today!
As much as I love Discord for its simplicity, steemit.chat remains to be (in my mind) the main post promotion tool for all our work and more than this it is currently the easiest way for us Steemians to communicate privately.

Does anyone know if Steemit are planning to introduce a private messaging service within the platform?
Seems like this would make sense for everyone?
Private messaging is a crucial feature for most other major social media sites.
As founder of the @steemshop account I am currently in the process of running escrow transaction tests, looking for potential pitfalls. And one of them has been clearly identified now.
- Having the ability to private message each other is an essential part of our escrow system.
So... pretty please STEEMIT DEVS will you conjure us up a Steemit messaging service for the next hardfork?
I do believe this would be a game-changer!
