Greetings Steemit,
Since leaving the corporate World in December 2016 - I've been floating about waiting for the next career 'opportunity' meant to cross my path to present itself.
I've been on Steemit for almost a year now - and I had never powered down until just a few months ago. When I started that process - I think I had about 1800 SP.
Taking power down payments was intended for two reasons:
#1 - I felt like having almost 2K SP was enough to feel comfortable taking some back to compensate myself for the time I had put into the site up until that point.
#2 - Financially I kinda needed the extra income at that time.
Fast forward a few months later - and I'm floating around 1000 SP left in my account in this post HF19 World we're living in.
In accepting these power down payments - I've come to the realization that when I selected the big red "Pay Rent" button on my property manager's website a few days ago - I've literally just paid my July 2017 rent using 100% rewards earned while blogging on Steemit.
I've seen many posts online saying "I just paid my rent with Steem!", so though I 100% understand that excitement, I feel making that same post isn't adding anything exciting or new to the platform. But - that said - it IS exciting & new to me, to have the ability to pay my freak'n rent using some very rudimentary writing, photography, and podcasting skills.
Moving forward: I'm wondering if I've just effectively 'Hired Myself'.. and if so - then I'll admit its a pretty damned good feeling.
So here I sit trying to contain my own personal elation - and I'm left curious to know how these same experiences have treated you, my fellow Steemit community members?
The Question is posed: Please let us know what you have purchased with your Steemit Rewards?
Cheers Steemit!
