A help for the newcomers
I had the idea of this post while helping newcomers to better understand the Steemit universe. Responding to their questions, I realized that maybe it was necessary to create a small easy-to-read and easy-to-understand list that could give a little extra help to the minnows.
If you are new on Steemit you surely noticed that the Steemit GUI it's very simple, this is surely due to the fact that the site is still in the beta phase, but what you may not know is that there are a galaxy of sites that improve and extend the Steemit experience, adding many functions, some of which very very interesting.
In this first post, I suggest those that for me are essential:
The essential tools:
- steemd.com
From this site you can easily check all the recent activy of your account, your voting power, and all the informations recorded in the Blockchain.
To use this site you have to add the string: /@yoursteemitaccountname
Example: steemd.com/@thenightflier
- steemstats by @jesta, it has many functions of steemd but this is handy cause you can check contemporary many users on the same page
- steemviz by @ausbitbank, thanks to this site you can check your pendingpayouts derived from the rewards of your posts/comments
- steemspeak by @fyrstikken, it's a voice community 24/7 a chat a place where to find friends and help
- Steem voting power waiting time calculator by @thenightflier, it's a simple spreadsheet that calculates how much seconds/minutes/hours or days you have to wait in order to see again your voting power at 100%.
