Where did our freedom go?

“I wish i could change the world.
Where did our freedom go?
Where is our privacy going?”

Trying to shape the future for the best

In recent times so much has been happening: Edward Snowden, Shadow Brokers and WannaCry, the recent bill the US is trying to pass so people have to declare over 10k in CryptoCurrencies when entering the country, amongst multiple others…

They are all important and should be independently thought about, like various people in this same community have. Nonetheless my aim in this “comment”, is to in a general macro perspective try to interpret what this represents in the realm of how we should go about safeguarding our freedom and privacy for the future.

It is definitely important that we adopt “alternative platforms”.

Why? Because those in power of the big ones (think Google, Facebook, etc..) are insanely influential and powerful, which gives them the freedom(had to use this word…) to make incredibly important changes in our lives while being virtually uncontested. In reality, most people have no idea how deep the rabbit hole goes..

As he said, “Affected the most, they understand the least.”

What is ultimately necessary then, is that we use other platforms, evolve towards encryption, open-source and community driven projects so that we can represent our own interests. In the name of freedom, crypto and humanity.
We must shift from passive to active.

Changes have to be made, and as community we cant continue putting our heads down and accepting it because it is convenient. No!
It’s time to crossover
use linux instead of windows/mac
use signal instead of whatsapp
use steem instead of reddit
use encrypted-emails instead of gmail
use pgp
use bitcoin
use monero
use cryptocurrencies
use your brain
and use your voice, your influence to drive us forward.

It’s not easy to not support all the billion-dollar capitalist conglomerates, of course. Most of the times it’s a lot less Convenient, for a plenitude of reasons. But now is not a time for convenience, far from it. I/We weren’t built to save and change the world, but as humans I feel it is part of us to fight for what we believe, being that freedom, love, decentralization, open-source..

I guess all the shitty reality TV shows and tasteless content-less brainwashing type of bullshit music they shove down our throats made us forget…

I don’t think most people understand how much our future depends on how we deal with new-coming technologies and the extinction of our privacy, freedom and security.

So as a generation that grew alongside with technology, we shall let the code reign and not some central random power driven by “special interests”..

"No to centralization, No to fiscalization. My crypto is my private treasure and I’m going to HODL the shit out of it long after you pitiful life-draining economic facade has fallen."

Brethren now Is the time, as we fight for freedom without massive bloodshed.

In my opinion all of these websites applications are to be supported and should in a general manner be trusted but obviously depending the sensitivity of your works I would advise you to do some more research. This is not for criminals, even though some of the measures could be applied.
My goal is to drive our community forward to a state with encryption, where privacy and freedom are not compromised in the name of “security”.

Remember the threats to your privacy are not only corporations that will undoubtedly abuse your private information but also how badly they handle it which enables third-parties (hackers, political parties) to easily access all of your private information.
