I went to work today as usual and had to get ready for my busy schedule and put everyone working with me to their position of work. As soon as all came and got started I gave them their allocated placement and asked them to see if they are all ready to handle the rush hour. All started to work, but there was one employee who was not energetic and ready to work. I asked him "Anthony, is everything alright?" At first he said 'yes miss' but again was distracted as if he was not here at work. His mind was somewhere, as he was making mistakes to make customer coffee. It put my attention to him more so again I went to him and asked him. This time Anthony said to me that he was tired and did not sleep well all night. So I asked him what was his reason not to get enough sleep. That is when I found out that he sleeps in his car daily and he said he is just using his mothers home address so he can make some money and survive. But at night there is no room for him at her house nor he is allowed to stay there. When I heard his story I was shocked. Anthony is 30 years old young man. He is going through a phase in his life as he also recognize for all the mistake that past.
All of a sudden I wanted to take charge of the Bible and let God guide me to help this young man Anthony. I started to read some scriptures and came across Psalm 119: 28, 29 where it says - I have been sleepless from grief. Strengthen me according to your word. Remove from me the way of deception, And favor me with your law.
This holy book of Bible gives me a way at all times to take care of my day to day struggle in life. It puts me back in track the moment my life is getting distracted. I talked to Anthony before he finished work and asked him to stay strong in his good doing and I will make sure to see he gets enough hours, in that way he can save some money and get himself a small apartment or share an apartment with someone and live inside. In that manner he is safe off street and can get a better sleep.
Many people who are homeless have criminal records which makes it difficult for them to find work. And Anthony has found himself in the same place before he came to work with us. Anthony is a hard working person and willing to work as much as he can. From the time he has been hired he has always strive to come to work on time and have stayed strong to stick to his work and do it wholeheartedly. The story of Anthony has shook me and I going to make sure to do all that to my power to help Anthony get a proper way to live his life here after.
I am getting to the scripture Acts 20: 35 that tells me - I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way, you must assist those who are weak and must keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, when he himself said: 'There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.'
