When you sign up for Openledger the faucet offers free names for accounts on the Bitshares blockchain as long as you include a dash or a number or no vowels including y and w. So after you get an account and acquired Bitshares with Bitcoin here is what you do.

Click "Find Markets" in the top right corner. Type "Hero" and click the BTS tab! (Hero can only be bought with Bitshares!) Click the star to make it a "favorite market."
So you set a buy order at the top of the buy book if you want to wait for someone to sell to you. Or if you want to be a market "taker" by doing a market buy then you simply set your buy price in Bitshares for the same as the lowest sell on the Sell order book. I set a buy order for 0.095 Hero for a price of 680.01 Bitshares per Hero so that I could jump ahead of the top buy and get my order filled first. MAKE SURE TO LEAVE SOME EXTRA BITSHARES IN YOUR BALANCE FOR THE TRADE FEE!
