FlightGear Flightsimulator: my works on Antonov Aircrafts

AN-12BK

I will start to show you my works with the amazing transport aircrafts from the Ukranian aircraft factory Antonov. I begun 2 years ago to fly just for fun with a lot of different models, but after a while I was not to happy that some functions are not implemented. So I started to get into programming and modeling the An-12. I took 6 month to implement the instruments and adjust the flight-dynamics for a pleasant flight. And with the great help from the German chat buddies step by step more and more instruments are made and positioned in the cockpit. Now I have a total of 180 instruments, lamps and switches witch I can use for the other aircrafts as well. Besides the instrumentation there is the animation: paratroopers, containers a tanks are dropping with parachutes, it takes a while to get the wind deflection right so that the stuff is landing on the right spot :) All lamps, for navigation, positioning, taxi, start and landing are also there. Then the smoke systems for the engines and the effect on landing are developed. You may flight with all instruments in the cockpit without using a joystick.

After this great step it was not to difficult to make the same with the An-22. The biggest tuboprop in the world was flightdynamicaly a challenge, but it was also managed after hundreds of test flights.

And then the biggest aircraft of all, the An-225 was my masterpiece. I learned the modeling in Blender and made this aircraft one of the most amazing experiences in FlightGear. Load up with a shuttle on top it is quite difficult to flight and a lot more tricky to land.

In the next posts I will show the Tupolev, Ilyushin, Balloons and lots of more, videos are also coming up, so please stay tuned if you are interested in aviation from your desktop.

See you next time!

Thank you for your attention!
