When I set out to start a daily writing habit a few days ago, I knew I would eventually slip up. I just didn't realize I would slip up this soon. Who knew starting a habit was such a delicate thing?

I guess it's unavoidable.
At first it was the busy weekend. I met with friends and family, finished projects I was behind on, and, of course, I caught up on my sleep. So, I decided to give myself a break on Sundays. What's one day, after all.
Then came the procrastination and the "good enough" excuses. So what if I didn't publish anything on my blog. I still did some writing--I just didn't finish it.
Next thing you know, it's been almost a week since my last post. So, what happened?
If I'm being honest with myself, I got distracted for a while there. One day spent bingeing the last four episodes of the second season of Westworld, and my attempt at a daily writing habit gets derailed.
What will I do now? What else, but to start writing again. And this time, I'm going to write everyday, with no Sunday breaks.
Let's hope doggedness can overcome the distractions.
This is a 5-minute #freewrite. You can view the prompt here.
It's also Day 14 of my goal to write everyday, for 100 days. (I missed days 7 to 13, though.)
Thanks for reading.
