Today, I will be sharing the photographs of one of my most memorable trip to Solang Valley that I visited last year in the month of March.
This trip is very close to my heart because at this trip I witnessed heavy snowfall.
It was just a random trip for us and as soon as we reached there the snowflakes from heaven starts to fall on the mighty mountains.
Solang Valley is a side valley at the top of Kully Valley in Himachal Pradesh, this valley is famous for its summer and winter sports.
People from all around the world visit here for sports like skiing, ice skating, paragliding, zorbing, parachuting, bike riding.
The Solang Valley is also known as Solang Nullah which is a combination of two native words Solang which means nearby village and Nullah which means running water or water streams.
The floor elevation of Solang Valley is 2,560 meters (8,400 ft) above the sea level. In winters when the snow falls all over the mountains, the festival of sports begin.
When the snow melts during summers from the month of May, skiing is replaced by zorbing (a giant ball with room for two people which is rolled down a 200 meters hill), paragliding and horse riding.
Solang Valley is located at a distance of 13 Kilometers from Manali offering a beautiful view of glaciers and snow-caved mountains.
The best time to visit Solang Valley and to enjoy summer splash mountain sports is when the temperature ranges from 10 degrees to 20 degrees.
At this time snow can be seen only at very high altitude, I am sure if you plan to go at this time your dream of perfect Paragliding through the sky will come true.
You will feel like a bird flying high with open wings.
This trip was my dream come true, though I didn't get to do any of the sports but the snowfall took my heart away.
