My Thoughts On Hope - EcoTrain Challenge "Join us and write a Poem On Hope".

Does hope stop us from being proactive?

If I sit here and spend my time hoping for something to happen, am I not just passing the responsibility of it on to someone else? Or am I merely putting my intentions out into the world. Hope is a word we hear a lot about, yet today, it does not sit well with me. It seems too easy to just hope things will improve and then just get away with not doing anything, but yet expect things to change. And plus, there is a whole ritual that goes with setting ones intentions, in sending them out into the world. We can not expect things to just happen, we need to be proactive, we need to remember that we receive what we give out. If we just give out hope, where is the action?

Hope seems to dampen the fire that burns within
because instead I hand it over for someone else to begin.
I do not want hope,
I want action,
I want to feel the passion that drives,
that creates
and not all this distraction.
I know we can focus,
we can release our intentions, out into the world
but now is the time for our dreams to become real and unfurl.
I want to see it all take shape, for each of us to raise up and create.
No longer living in a world, where we follow and allow others to dictate.
This is not the time to be silent and meek
with all these lies we have been fed,
convincing us we are weak,
This cowering behind our words or feelings,
it must stop,
as now is the time to begin our healing.
To tap into the power we hold within,
to reconnect with our inner wisdom
so that we can finally begin.
So that
We
Can
Finally
Begin.

This is my entry into the Ecotrain's latest challenge, Join us and write a Poem On Hope. When I first read the launch post this was not how I imagined my poem would turn out. But as I sat down to write, this is what came out, this is what I needed to say, this is my thoughts on hope. In the end I call for action or indeed I hope for action!
