We don't do regular shots (except B12 or maybe tetanus & rabies in a crisis) but I do THESE shots. Often. Everytime I go into town (maybe 5 times/week), in fact.
Wheatgrass. Gotu-Kola. Turmeric-Ginger-Lime. One shot of each, washed down with my favourite #9 green juice - celery, cucumber, pineapple & sunflower sprouts with added spirulina. A great investment in myself.
Excessive? Depends on what level of "normal" you want to live at and what you want to achieve. Me? I want to be hyper alert, intensely creative, self-healing, leading the pack & highly effective with exceptional mental clarity. And so I just plug in the building blocks my body needs, as often as I can, and relax into the joy of knowing that whatever is excess will be happily & efficiently excreted. Bodies are great like that.
Today let's just look at the wheatgrass. Why do I choose that?
For me, personally, having read the studies, I choose it for these reasons:
- It contains all the essential amino acids for protein synthesis (think cell repair, new bones, new neuron connections, new skin & organ tissue, better muscle recovery)
- A great source of glutathione for maintaining cellular health & integrity (ie bad guys stay out)
- It reduces the risk of impaired bone marrow function, meaning you have the best blood possible, which drives everything
- It keeps your blood sugar super steady, which in turn regulates hormones, which makes everything & everybody happier & sexier
- It's uber-rich in anti-oxidants, which keeps the body in peak condition and reduces the visible effects of aging - not just keeping you fresh & gorgeous but keeping you fit and functioning optimally
- It's literally alive when you drink it, meaning phenomenally rich in enzymes which regulate virtually every chemical reaction in our body

"Doesn't it taste like crap?" I hear you ask?
Actually, it's sweet. And a little earthy. And surprisingly pleasant.
Where do we get ours? From the lovely Khun Kae, of course, in Old City Chiang Mai (we are talking Thailand, here!) in Moon Muang Soi 7. Find the map location on her facebook page Khun Kae's Juice Bar And yep, this was us, this afternoon. :) But available in so many switched on, healthy places and juice bars around the world.
Great natural health, and injury recovery, start with small, daily if possible, incremental changes. Not so much about denial and "giving up" things but, rather, about choosing to include game-changers. I think a wheatgrass shot is a serious game-changer and 40 baht (about usd $1.25) well invested.
BlissednBlessed by incredible nourishment and wonderful people around me.
