Art of Bioshock - steampunk in motion, the Song Bird

 Introduction:

We already went through Elizabeth and Booker, so today we have another important character in the game - the Song Bird, the spiritual successor to Bioshock's Big Daddy. Concept has a long development. The Bird had to be terrifying, large and iconic. During concert creation it had varied embodiments, from flying men to mythological dragons.

Concept art:

Every, and I mean it, every part of the bird was thought through and worked through really carefully. No item on the character is useless, they all are really "for something".

A piece of "character-turn-around" sheet used for future animation.

When you create steampunk art you nearly have to think about how every detail would work in real life. So in such concept you often can see how tiny details are drawn separately exactly for this - to think about mechanical part of process.

In the next review we'll continue with founders and citizens, see you there next week;)

Thank you for watching:)

Love, Inber
