Its Friday afternoon, & my weekend starts now, so what better way to kick it off than an Ayinger Helles in one of all-time favourite beer gardens!
The Olympia-Alm is Munich's highest beer garden, and you have to climb a fairly large hill to get to it.
The good thing is, you will certainly work up a thirst, and the views on the way up aren't bad!
The beer garden was originally a small kiosk opened for the 1972 Munich Olympics.
Its not too touristy, due to the fact that its off the beaten track.
The beer is good - crisp & refreshing on hot day. I really like Ayinger - one of my favourite Helles, so of course, I made sure I had the Maß!
It is a beautiful golden colour - well-brewed with a sweet and malty taste. 5% volume.
Goes down easy!
Even the Wee Sroka was interested.
Once you've finished your beer, check out OlympiaPark - its a beautiful area and on a good day, you can even see the Bavarian Alps in the distance!
